I’m pretty down and stressed tonight so I had a nutty bar and two truffles. I know it’s not terrible, but I already feel like I haven’t been progressing and now the guilt is sinking in…ugh someone please reassure me!

Victoria’s Secret Models

So I don’t have a problem with Candice Swanepoel, but I’m really sick of her being the ONLY Victoria’s Secret model ever on my dash. Like really? Yes she’s beautiful and we all would love to look like that. But what about Victoria’s Secret models like Marisa Miller? She has a woman’s body. She isn’t naturally a waif, as most of us aren’t, her body seems to have way more hard earned muscle tone, and she has curves. Am I really the only person who feels this way?

I love how I can push press 315 lbs but can only squat 75. Oh wait, I don’t.

I feel like there’s some days you look at fitspo and it really inspires you and reminds you why you’re doing this. Then there’s others where all it does is make you think how far away you are from your goals :(

Well remember you can’t spot reduce! Which means that doing certain exercises to work your obliques (the sides of your abs where you get love handles) won’t get rid of them. You can have awesome abs but you have to get the fat off of them with cardio! Running, HIIT, jump roping, swimming, etc. But some great exercises to work your obliques include:

Russian Twists (you can start off doing it without the medicine ball)

Side Planks

Side Plank Hip Dips

Bicycle Crunches

Side Jackknives

Side Plank Oblique Twists

A great recommendation I would give though is to do some POP Pilates! I don’t know if you’ve heard of it but it’s quite amazing and Cassey’s workouts are so great. She makes it fun. The best part is, she has three separate videos targeting love handles specifically! :) So here you go:

Aw thank you so much! That means sooo much to me, you don’t even realize. I can’t update much until next week because of finals and moving out of my dorm, but after that I promise I’ll keep it updated and such :)
